When selecting a circular connector, you must first understand the following four points:
1. Connector type
The most important consideration of selecting circular connector is what to connect, where to use, and where the connector is used (indoor, outdoor, corrosive environment, etc.), which will affect whether to enhance the airtightness of aviation plug or add shielding shell outside the insulation body. The type of connector determines which termination to use and how many conductive terminals to arrange.
In general, there are about 25 test agencies (specifications) for circular connectors as the source of specifications. Of course, it is necessary to consider the appropriate test specifications for specific application situations, including those of international use.
3. Electrical requirements
When selecting the industrial electrical connector, the electrical requirements of the product should be considered. What kind of product voltage and current requirements, whether the connector can be well used in such electrical properties, these electrical requirements are to be considered. In addition, we also need to consider other electrical conditions: resistance, allowable resistance variation, MV drop, maximum current value, maximum voltage value, inrush current value, characteristic impedance, VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio), insertion loss and EMI shielding efficiency.
4. Environmental requirements
Temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions are determined by the location of the electrical connector, so the location and expected environment should be considered. What is the shelf life and information of other relevant storage conditions. The description of the environment should also cover the requirements for shock and vibration, including requirements for shipping and production environmental conditions such as welding temperature and welding cycle duration. Some connector manufacturers say that the area where the highest temperature is generated is around the converging continuous current guided by the connector.
