Circular connector is an indispensable part of electronic equipment. It is widely used in life and industrial production. It can be said that without circular connector, there will be no rich and colorful modern life.
The main function of the circular connector is to build a bridge between the blocked or isolated circuits in the circuit, so as to make the current flow and realize the predetermined function of the circuit. Circular connector greatly facilitates the assembly of products, in a variety of maintenance and replacement, can also bring benefits and convenience to people. Therefore, although we can hardly see the figure of circular connector with naked eyes, we are often served by circular connector.
The materials used to make circular connectors generally include materials that can be insulated, such as plastics, and some conductor materials, such as phosphor copper or brass. Of course, the parts can also be made of some plastic materials. And different materials, the product quality is also different, each has its own characteristics. Therefore, when we choose the circular connector for different purposes, we must choose the right product according to the specific situation.
There are many reasons for poor contact of circular connector, such as low strength of contact pin, easy deformation, bending and wear, or high strength, easy to break. Of course, the contact socket strength, low hardness, poor elasticity, stress relaxation, small separation force, high strength, broken wire in hyperbolic spring hole will also lead to poor contact of circular connector. In addition to these contact performance reasons, the failure of elastic parts will also lead to poor contact. The spring or spring will be permanently deformed due to low strength, hardness or stiffness. If the strength is too high and the stiffness is too high, wrist fracture will also affect the normal function of elastic parts.
The circular connector must have the following three performances:
1. Insulation resistance
Insulation resistance refers to the resistance value of the insulation part of the cable circular connector, which causes leakage current inside or on the surface of the insulation part by applying voltage. It is mainly affected by insulation material, temperature, humidity, contamination and other factors. The insulation resistance values provided on the cable circular connector samples are generally the index values under standard atmospheric conditions. Under some environmental conditions, the insulation resistance values will decrease to different degrees. In addition, pay attention to the test voltage value of insulation resistance. According to the insulation resistance (m Ω) = the voltage (V) / leakage current (μ a) applied to the insulator, different voltages are applied, and different results will be obtained. In the test of cable circular connector, the applied voltage is generally 10V, 100V and 500V.
2. Withstand voltage
Withstand voltage is the critical voltage which can withstand higher than the rated voltage and not produce breakdown phenomenon between the mutual insulation parts of contact pairs or between the insulation parts and the grounding within the specified time. It is mainly affected by the contact distance and creepage distance and geometry, insulator material, ambient temperature and humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
3. Combustion resistance
Any circular cable connector can not work without the current, which has the risk of fire. Therefore, the circular cable connector is required not only to prevent ignition, but also to self extinguish in a short time in case of ignition and fire. In the selection, attention should be paid to the selection of circular cable connectors with flame retardant and self extinguishing insulating materials.
